Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using SiftMail, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service. SiftMail reserves the right to update these terms at any time with notice to registered users.

2. Service Description

SiftMail is an email triage service that scores incoming emails for spam, phishing, and promotional content. Based on your settings, SiftMail may quarantine, digest, or flag emails. SiftMail is not a replacement for your email provider's built-in spam filtering and should be used as a supplementary layer of protection.

3. Account & Access

  • You must provide a valid email address to use SiftMail.
  • You grant SiftMail permission to access your mailbox via OAuth with the scopes requested during connection.
  • You may revoke access at any time through your dashboard or your email provider's settings.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.

4. Plans & Billing

  • SiftMail offers Free, Pro, and Business plans with different feature sets.
  • Paid plans are billed monthly via Stripe. Prices are listed on our pricing page.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time. Access continues until the end of the billing period.
  • Failed payments enter a 7-day grace period before the account is downgraded to the Free plan.
  • Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis.

5. Shadow Mode

All new accounts start in Shadow Mode, where SiftMail scores emails but does not modify your mailbox. You must explicitly disable Shadow Mode to enable live quarantine actions. SiftMail is not liable for any emails incorrectly quarantined after you enable live mode.

6. Limitations of Liability

  • SiftMail uses heuristic scoring and is not guaranteed to catch all spam or phishing attempts.
  • SiftMail is not liable for emails that are incorrectly classified as safe or incorrectly quarantined.
  • SiftMail is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.
  • Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service in the past 12 months.

7. Prohibited Use

You may not use SiftMail to send spam, phishing emails, or for any illegal purpose. Automated abuse of the API or attempts to circumvent rate limits will result in account termination.
